Semi-truck driver dies after highway crash

A man died Wednesday after the semi-truck he was driving went off the highway and tipped, Shoal Lake RCMP say.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. on Highway 16, 25 kilometres west of Shoal Lake.

The 37-year-old man from Edmonton, the only occupant, was not wearing a seatbelt.

The semi was hauling a crane and travelling eastbound, RCMP said.

The crash is under investigation.
