A man has been sent to hospital in Winnipeg with serious injuries after a beating in downtown Brandon's Princess Park.
Police were called to the park just before 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, where a passerby said a man had just assaulted another man in the park.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, had been punched several times in the upper body and was found lying on the ground with injuries that police called "severe." After being taken by ambulance to the Brandon hospital, he was transferred to Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre.
The suspect in the beating fled eastwards along Princess Avenue, and is described as being between 40–50 years old, about 5-foot-10, and aboriginal in appearance. He was wearing a dark green T-shirt.
Police say they continue to investigate.
