Seven-hour thunderstorm drenches Brandon; more sun this afternoon

City crews were out to clear clogged storm drains, as Brandon was drenched overnight by a seven-hour-long series of thunderstorms.

But despite a grey start to the day, storms are expected to peter out later this morning, and skies should then clear, giving Westman residents a beautiful day, with sunny afternoon skies and a forecast high of about 27 C.

Temperatures will dip to about 13 C overnight, and then clear skies dominate the forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend as well.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday all look to be nearly identical, with overnight lows in the mid-teens, perfectly sunny skies with no clouds, and afternoon highs ranging from 27 C to 29 C.

The normal high for this time of year is 25 C, the normal low is 13 C.
