Shilo soldiers prep for Hawaii assignment

More than 150 Shilo soldiers are heading to Hawaii in July — but it's not a vacation.

The troops, from 2PPCLI, will be working alongside the U.S. Marine Corps and other coalition units in an exercise to practice evacuation of civilians and other non-combatants.

Before leaving for the exercise, called Rim of the Pacific 2012, or RIMPAC, the Shilo soldiers will be honing their movement, shooting and communication skills on the base.

You are correct, acelady22.
Those exercises can be practiced right here in Manitoba.
Not a wise use of resources.
