Shop staff stop shoplifter

Keen-eyed grocery store staff spotted a man in their store yesterday morning they say had stolen from them before.

Police say they were called around 10:30 a.m. to the store, in the 1600-block of Princess Avenue. Store staff had recognized the man, who had allegedly stolen from the store on Aug. 11.

When he returned to the store, he was apprehended by staff, who later turned him over to police.

A 53-year-old Brandon man will appear in court on Oct. 1 to face a charge of theft under $5,000.
