With snow and wind in the forecast, it's a far cry from last spring.

Last year at this time, Brandon was basking in the mid-teens, with temperatures that soared to over 20 C a couple of times.

This year, it's much the same — with a minus sign in front.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of just -13 C today, with at least 5 cm of snow expected to fall.

Winds from the northeast at 20 km/h will kick up a windchill near -27 this morning.

First the wind and then the snow should finally die down this evening, as temperatures fall to -20 C overnight.

Skies should clear for Saturday morning, with sun for most of the day and an expected high of -11 C.

But periods of snow are predicted again for Sunday, although it could be a smidgen warmer, at -8 C.

Into next week, the forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud of Monday, with a high of -11 C, then sun on Tuesday and Wednesday with daytime highs of around -6 C. However, overnight lows will stick near -20 C all the way through.

At this point, Thursday's forecast calls for clouds, with a good chance of flurries, and a high around -7 C.

The normal high for this time of year is -1 C, and the normal low is -11 C.
