Lewd act reported at Shilo, soldier arrested

A CFB Shilo spokesperson has confirmed that military police have arrested a soldier in connection with a lewd act allegedly committed on base on Wednesday.

MPs made the arrest after being called to a report of a man committing a lewd act at General Strange Hall, the base's recreation complex, on Wednesday afternoon.

As of this morning, he remained in custody but it isn't clear at this point whether he has been charged with any offence.

Details of the incident aren't immediately available. It's reported that a number of youth were in the area during the lewd act, but they may not have witnessed it.

It also isn't known at this point whether this incident is linked with a string of lewd acts reported on base and in Brandon recently.

However, the base spokesperson did indicate that this man is not the same 24-year-old Shilo man who was previously arrested and charged with sexual assault in relation to a Feb. 3 incident.
