Still some city toilet credits left

Most of the city's toilet credits have been snapped up, but there's still a chance for homeowners who want an environmentally friendly upgrade to their throne.

The $60 credits are a municipal incentive for people who swap out water-wasting old toilets and replace them with low-flow models. When unveiled in the spring, the 2014 incentive program had 400 credits available. Just 125 or so are left, the city says.

The program will run until they are all gone, or until the end of the year. Each homeowner is eligible for a maximum of two toilet credits, which are applied to their city water bill. They must provide proof of installation, as well as a pledge that they won't re-use their old toilet anywhere else.

To apply, residents should submit their receipts to the city's engineering department at City Hall.
