Brandon Sun - ONLINE EDITION

Sun, as far as the eye can see

If you were taking next week off, you picked the right week. Environment Canada is calling for a glorious weekend, then a gorgeous five days all next week.

And, although there's a possibility of rain during the Victoria Day long weekend, let's worry about that next week, shall we?

For today, although not quite as warm as yesterday, it won't be quite as wet either. The forecast calls for a high of 16 C this afternoon, with just a few clouds in the mostly blue skies. Winds will be noticeable, though, from the west at about 30 km/h.

Overnight, temperatures will drop to about 6 C, but skies will totally clear up, and they'll stay clear for several days. Saturday should be a great day, with a high of 21 C and continuing winds from the west at about 30 km/h.

Sunday should be even warmer, with a predicted high of 25 C and a low of 8 C.

To start next week, Monday could be a scorcher. The forecast calls for zero clouds and a high of 28 C, with a low of 12 C.

The string of 20s continues into the week, with Tuesday expected to hit 23 C, Wednesday to reach 25 C and Thursday to be 21 C, with nary a cloud in sight until Thursday.

The normal high for this time of year is 18 C. The normal low is 5 C.
