Blue skies out there, but a little bit of wind today will dampen the effect of the sun, and temperatures will fall a couple of degrees below freezing tonight.

Actually, according to Environment Canada, the temperature hit -1 C in the wee hours early this morning, so those tomatoes may already be wrecked.

But if not, you may want to pluck them off the vine this afternoon, as they’re unlikely to survive tonight.

Today’s forecast calls for a high of 15 C, with northwest winds at about 30 km/h and mainly sunny skies. But a few clouds should roll in this evening, with an overnight low of -3 C.

Tomorrow will be cool — with a high of just 13 C under sunny skies, then a low tomorrow night of -5 C.

Sunday will be a bit warmer, at 18 C, and Monday even warmer still, with a forecast high of 21 C to start the work week.

Sunny skies are expected for most of next week, with highs in the upper teens through Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The normal high for this time of year is 16 C. The normal low is 5 C.
