Sunny and warm — not hot

After a muggy hot day yesterday, Friday and the weekend are shaping up to be perfect specimens of summer — just right for the Brandon Folk, Music and Art Festival, which is taking place on the Keystone Centre grounds this weekend.

Environment Canada is calling for sunny skies today, with wind from the northwest at about 20 km/h this afternoon helping to keep the high of 26 C feeling reasonable.

Lows tonight should touch 13 C, but tomorrow will dawn clear and sunny again, with another forecast high of 26 C, although a few couds could roll in late in the afternoon.

Sunday will be a bit hotter, with a predicted high of 31 C and more sun. Overnight lows through the weekend should be between 15–17 C, so festival campers won't have to worry about fleeces.

The heat will linger into Monday, with a high that day of 27 C and a low around 15 C, but things will cool off a bit mid-week. The forecast for Tuesday calls for rain, with a high of just 22 C.

The normal high for this time of year is 25 C; the normal low is 13 C.
