Sunny skies with temps in the 20s

A few clouds won't dampen the day today, but it could storm overnight.

Environment Canada says that today should be mainly sunny, with a mix of sun and cloud later this morning. The temperature should reach a pleasant 22ºC, with the UV Index hitting 7, which is considered high.

Partly cloudy skies will come tonight, with a 40 per cent chance of showers overnight, including the risk of a thunderstorm. Winds will pick up to about 20 km/h late in the evening, with temperatures bottomoning out at 12ºC before dawn tomorrow.

Tomorrow will see clearing skies in the morning, with westerly winds at 30 km/h through the day and a high of 23ºC.

Wednesday will be cooler and cloudy, with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 19ºC.

Thursday should see a mix of sun and cloud with plenty of wind and a high of 20ºC, before Friday ends the week on a sunny note with a high of 22ºC.

At this point, the weekend forecast calls for cloudy days and a good chance of showers both Saturday and Sunday. Weekend highs should be about 20ºC.

The normal high for this time of year is 23ºC; the normal low is 10ºC.

The warmest it's ever been on this date was in 1996, when it hit 34.4ºC. The coldest ever was in 1966, when it dipped to 0ºC.
