Swan River man dead in rollover; police believe alcohol to be a factor

A 48-year-old Swan River man is dead following a single vehicle rollover early this morning.

At about 6:30 a.m., Swan River RCMP, Parkland EMS and Benito Fire Department responded to a rollover on Highway 83, about two miles north of Benito. A Chevrolet Aveo was traveling west bound when the vehicle lost control and rolled, coming to a stop on the south shoulder of the highway, police said.

The driver, a 40-year-old Swan River woman, was critically injured and airlifted to hospital.

Three other adult passengers were treated for minor injuries and are under hospital observation.

The Swan River RCMP are investigating the cause of the accident. Road and weather conditions were good at the time of the rollover and alcohol is believed to be a factor, police said.
