A taxicab driver is recovering after being stabbed in the face by a drunken passenger Friday night.
While waiting for police to arrive, the passenger grabbed a pen and stabbed the driver in his cheek.
The driver got out of the vehicle and the passenger jumped behind the wheel, driving a short distance before crashing into a snow bank after seeing police.
A 19-year-old Brandon woman, who refused to take a breathalyzer, was arrested at the scene and taken to Brandon Correction Centre. It was also found that the accused was on a Court Order to abstain from consuming alcohol.
The victim was transported to Brandon Regional Health Centre by ambulance and was admitted overnight for treatment.
