A teenager had been drinking when he lost control of his ATV yesterday evening near Dauphin, and was lying on the roadway afterwards when he was hit by a car, poilce say.
He's recovering in hospital from his injuries.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m., about three kilometres east of Dauphin on Highway 20.
After losing control of his ATV, the 15-year-old rider was lying on the highway when the eastbound car came along and hit him. Police say the driver of the car, a 45-year-old Dauphin woman, wasn't injured, nor was her passenger.
The rural Dauphin-area teen had been drinking, police say, and that's considered a contributing factor in the crash. However, they continue to investigate.
