Teen boy, younger girl arrested after tagging buildings

Police tracked down a 15-year-old Brandon boy and a 12-year-old Brandon girl who are accused of vandalizing three buildings on a spray painting spree on Thursday evening.

The first report came at about 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, when police heard that three youths were spray painting New Era School, near Sixth Street and Louise Avenue.

Officers who checked the area found fresh paint on the school. Similar grafitti was also found on a business in the 800-block of Pacific Avenue.

Police noticed several possible suspects near Ninth Street and Princess Avenue, and found that two of them were allegedly responsible for the spray painting.

They were arrested, and it was later found that a third building, in Stanley Park, had also been tagged.

The boy and girl are both to appear in court on May 15, on charges of mischief to property.
