Teen misses curfew, taken to jail

A teenager supposed to be on a 24-hour curfew at his group home got taken to jail around midnight Tuesday after be absconded from the home.

Police were called by a worker at the home, who reported that the 16-year-old boy had left the home. It later turned out that he had snuck out of the home and then returned, fleeing once more when he found out that staff were aware of his departure.

The teen turned up at the home again later and was arrested. He was held at the Brandon Correctional Center to appear in court Wednesday, where he was facing charges of failing to comply with probation, failing to comply with undertaking, and two counts of failing to comply with recognizance order.
