Investigators say they've identifed two teenagers who are accused of stealing a car from Brandon, dinging it up in Rivers, and then dumping it back in Brandon, back in December.

The car, a Ford Focus, was reported stolen in late December from the 1200-block of 10th Street. Police say it was found a short time later, abandoned in a business parking lot on Richmond Avenue East.

However, it turns out that in the interim, the car had been driven to Rivers, where it was involved in a minor traffic accident, police say.

Two teenagers — one 15, other 16 — were identified as suspects; they were arrested Sunday and charged with vehicle theft.

One of the youths was released from custody to appear in court in April, while the other was held in custody for breaching conditions of an existing court order.
