Teens found with stolen property

Three youths spotted rifling through vehicles were caught later with property pilfered from inside them, police say.

The trio was seen going through vehicle by an resident of the 1100-block of Seventh Street, who called police just before 6 a.m. on Sunday morning. Officers caught up to the suspects near Seventh Street and College Avenue.

Police say that five vehicles were found to have been rummaged through, and that property from three of them was found in the possession of the youths.

A 17-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, all from Brandon, are to appear in court on July 10 to face three counts of theft of property.

Police add that further charges are possible, since they also found other possibly-stolen property on the teens, but haven't matched it to any particular vehicle.
