Thieves decline change
There apparently wasn't enough cash to make it worth their while.
A business in the 500-block of 26th Street was the victim of a break-in over the long weekend, but the cash drawer was left behind by the culprits.
Although the drawer had been removed from a cash register during the break-in, it was left behind and nothing else was taken. It contained only a small amount of change, police said.
The business' owner discovered the break-in Tuesday morning and reported it to police at about 7:30 a.m. The front door lock was damaged during the break-in.
Police continue to investigate.
