Tree uprooted in crash

Two people were injured, but it seems like it was a tree that got the worst of things, after a single-vehicle crash yesterday evening.

Police were called to the 1300-block of Louise Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. A west-bound vehicle — apparently travelling at a high rate of speed — struck a tree in that block, causing extensive damage to the vehicle and uprooting the tree.

A 26-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man, both from Brandon, were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
