Three Brandon businesses were broken into Monday night and at least two of them are definitely related.

Police say that thieves went through a hole in the drywall between to businesses after stealing the cash float from a restaurant. The restaurant, int  he 700-block of 18th Street, reported the break-in a little before 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, but it happened sometime overnight.

Entry to the restaurant may have been through a rear door that wasn't secure. Once inside, thieves took the cash box and then went through a large hole in the drywall into a neighbouring business. However, nothing appears to have been stolen from there.

The same morning, at around 7:30 a.m., an employee of a business in the 200-block of Pacific Avenue also reported a break-in. A rear window was smashed at the business, and desk drawers in an office were rummage through, but nothing appears to have been taken.

Police continue to investigate the break-ins.
