Police called to a truck that had been left abandoned in a snow bank quickly determined that it had been stolen.
The truck — spotted by a passerby at about 6 a.m. on Monday morning — was stuck over a snow bank at the corner of Eighth Street and Southern Avenue, and had been left with the door wide open.
Officers who responded were able to identify the truck as one that had been recently stolen from a home in the 200-block of 22nd Street.
Police dogs were brought out to try to track the thieves, but weren't successful. Police say they continue to investigate.
