Vandals target yard and car

The damage was bad, but it could have been worse.

A resident of the 1800-block of McDonald Avenue called police Thursday morning to report a dangerous bit of vandalism in their yard, overnight.

Someone had broken the rear window of the caller's car, a 2007 Dodge, and a partially burned rag was found on the back seat — apparently tossed there in an attempt to set the car on fire. A trampoline in the yard had also been slashed, and so was a pool.

Police say they continue to investigate.
