Wanted man turns himself in

A man wanted by police in connection with a summertime crash that killed two people has turned himself in.

Shawn Bradley Dreveski, 34, faces two criminal charges of dangerous driving causing death after the July 12 crash. He's also been charge with two counts of careless driving causing death, under the Highway Traffic Act.

Dreveski was apparently behind the wheel of a delivery van that was trying to cross the Trans-Canada Highway just west of Brandon, at the intersection with Highway 270, that afternoon.

As the van tried to cross, it was hit by a westbound motorcycle, killing the motorcyclist, a 26-year-old Selkirk man. His passenger, a 25-year-old Winnipeg woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and later died. Dreveski was also apparently injured in the crash.

After police issed a call for help in tracking him down over the weekend, Dreveski showed up to the Brandon RCMP detachment shortly before noon on Monday, and turned himself in.

His first court appearance is now set for Feb. 10.
