Brandon Sun - ONLINE EDITION

Wet week in the forecast

Only a few millimetres of rain fell yesterday, despite nearly constant overcast conditions, but more is likely today, tonight and tomorrow — as well as into the weekend.

Environment Canada says that today will be mainly cloudy, with a 40 per cent chance of showers this afternoon, plus a risk of a thunderstorm. Winds will pick up, becoming 30 km/h from the southwest, with gusts up to 50 km/h. The temperature should reach a high of 17 C.

Clouds will continue tonight, with more showers possible early this evening, along with a continuing risk of a thunderstorm.

Skies should clear overnight as the winds fade and temperatures drop to a low of 6 C, but clouds will roll in again tomorrow.

There's a 60 per cent chance of more showers on Thursday, especially in the afternoon and evening, although winds will be lighter tomorrow than they are today. Temperatures will be chilly, reaching a high of just 12 C.

Friday and Saturday will be even cooler, with a high of 11 C both days, and lows near 2 C. There's a 30 per cent chance of showers on Friday, then a mix of sun and cloud for Saturday.

Don't get too excited by that word, "sun", though — Sunday is predicted to be rainy, again.

The normal high is 20 C for this time of year. The normal low is 7 C.
