The Wheat City Golf Course will close for the 2012 season at day’s end on Sunday, Oct.14.
The City of Brandon’s Community Services Department and all staff of the Wheat City Golf Course wish to thank golfers for their loyal patronage through this rebuilding year.
League and community support for 2012’s nine-hole course offering amidst the 2011 flood recovery effort has been hugely appreciated.
Golfers are invited to come play their few last rounds of nine-hole golf prior to the course’s closure next weekend.
However, the City of Brandon would like to stress that use of the course by the public
(hitting of balls anywhere on the course surface) after Oct.14 is strictly prohibited in order for city staff to prepare the course for winter properly and safely.
Later this month, the public will be invited back to the Wheat City Golf Course for a free, guided cart tour. Staff have been working extremely hard this year to be able to offer golfers an amazing 18-hole experience in 2013 and will be showing the course off to all interested members of the public on the afternoon of Oct.25, weather-permitting.
Look for more details on the tour in the coming days on brandon.ca. and in the Brandon Sun.

The City of Brandon would like to note that the Mums Family Restaurant location in the Brandon Recreation Centre building, located at 3500 McDonald Ave., will remain open throughout the year, with normal business hours.
