Police took two women into custody Tuesday evening after store security spotted them shoplifting.
Security at a store in the Shoppers Mall called police after the pair left the store, allegedly without paying for about $500 worth of merchandise. The two women were detained by security and turned over to police, who arrested them. The merchandise was returned to the store.
Police say that the two women — one 24-years-old, the other 19 — were both from Brandon. They've been released from custody but are to appear in court on July 21, where they'll face charges of theft under $5,000.
