Woman dies in farm-related incident

A woman is dead following a farm-related incident yesterday.

On July 17, shortly before 4 p.m., Prairie Mountain RCMP responded to a report of an incident involving farm machinery in the in the RM of Shellmouth.

Investigation revealed a 57-year-old woman from the RM was operating an open-cab tractor while towing a brush cutter on her farm.

Police said it appears she fell from the tractor and was subsequently struck by the brush cutter.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health is assisting with the investigation.

No foul play is suspected.

The name of the deceased will not be released.
