Woman, infant hurt after truck clipped by semi

A woman and her infant child have been taken to hospital after an morning crash on the Trans-Canada. Police say their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The woman, a 22-year-old from Shilo, was behind the wheel of a pickup truck on Highway 250, near Alexander, at about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police say that it looks like she pulled out onto the Trans-Canada Highway in front of a west-bound semi truck, which crashed into her, causing the pickup to spin and end up in the ditch.

The woman and her two-month-old child were both taken to hospital afer the crash.

The 55-year-old Lorette man who was driving the semi was not injured.

Brandon RCMP continue to investigate, and say that updates will be provided as information becomes available.
