A woman who left her wallet behind after stealing a bottle of liquor was easily caught by police when she returned to the scene of the crime.

Police were called to the Liquor Mart at the corner of 10th Street and Victoria Avenue on Tuesday when the liquor theft was reported. However, the woman was easy to track down — she had left her wallet on a shelf, and was arrested when she returned to pick it up.

She was also with a man that she was bound by a court order to stay away from.

Police say the 28-year-old Brandon woman was held overnight to appear in court on Wednesday. She's charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of recognizance.
