A woman who was carrying two large knives while in an argument will face charges, as will the man she was arguing with.
Police were called to the 1300-block of Ottawa Avenue just past 10 p.m. on Monday night, where someone had reported a woman with a knife. When officers arrived, the woman quickly surrendered the weapons and was arrested without incident.
The man she was arguing with was also arrested, after police found that he was wanted in Saskatchewan and that he was in breach of court orders.
Police say it appears that the argument had stayed verbal, and there was no assault. However, both were kept overnight in the drunk tank until they were sober.
The woman has been released and will appear in court in late March, charged with possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose.
The man, a 37-year-old Brandon resident, was held in custody to await a bail hearing today. Along with his previous offences, he's charged with three new counts of breaching a recognizance.
