Youth handing out candy roses today

Young women will be handing out candy roses tagged with empowering statements today.

It's part of a nation-wide campaign put on by the YWCA called "Think Big, Start Small" and the hope is that community members will pay it forward by doing something kind for someone else in return.

The campaign is part of the YWCA's "Y Act Up" initiative, a civic engagement and leadership program for young women between 15 and 29 years of age. The program provides young women with opportunities to enhance their leadership skills, build community and become agents of change while improving their connection to their community and Canada.
