Canadian Forces member shot after Shilo argument

A Canadian Forces member was shot following an altercation at the Canadian Forces Base Shilo early Sunday morning.

According to a release from the Department of National Defence, the altercation was between two Canadian Forces members at the training base east of Brandon. The incident resulted in one soldier being treated for a non life-threatening gunshot wound. The other member was arrested and taken into police custody.

The weapon, which has been seized, was not a military-issued weapon.

The incident is under investigation by the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service. No charges have been laid at this time.
