WINNIPEG'S Dave Angus has been named Canada's top chamber of commerce executive for 2012.

The Winnipeg C of C president and CEO was presented with the award at a Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada (CCEC) awards dinner last Friday in Hamilton.

Among the criteria the judging panel took into account in choosing the winner were outstanding performance, membership growth for the candidate's chamber, the chamber's financial status, his or her contribution to the chamber profession, and the success of his or her organization.

Angus has been Winnipeg C of C president and CEO since June 1999. He is also a past president of the CCEC and is the Canadian representative on the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.
