"It’s terrible," Heidi Nugent of Neepawa said on Thursday. "The potholes need to be fixed. It’s a popular place."

For months there have been holes in the lot, including one that spans roughly three feet and can be a surprising jolt to an unsuspecting driver.

"In the truck, it’s OK, but my little car wouldn’t survive," Nugent said.

Taxi driver Dennis McDougall said during busy nights, it can be tricky to get around.

"The only way you can get through is drive slowly over top. Otherwise, if you get someone who doesn’t know it’s there, and he nails it … It’ll do damage," McDougall said.

"It could wreck your rim."

A hotel visitor from Glenboro said he was shocked to find the lot still in the same state from his last visit.

"We couldn’t believe it was still not fixed," he said. "I couldn’t believe an establishment like this would not have the parking lot A1."

As the lot is on private property, it’s Canad Inns’ responsibility to hire a company to fix the potholes.

"We’ve raised concerns about it, but it’s up to the Canad Inns," said Keystone Centre general manager Neil Thomson. "They’re responsible for that. It’s nothing per se to do with the Keystone. We’ve raised it with them for a period of time."

Canad Inns general manager Charlene Harris said there are plans in the works to fix the problem.

"We’re on the list with a paving company to have them done," she said. "They’re working their way down this list, and obviously with some of their other issues around town, they haven’t got to us yet, but we’re definitely on their game plan."

Harris said she didn’t know the timeline for the fix, just as soon as the paving company can get to it.
