MILT STEGALL, the TSN broadcaster and CFL Hall of Fame football player, will visit the Manitoba town of Morris on Dec. 14 to deliver a message of tolerance and peace at 2 p.m.

Stegall, the record-setting receiver with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1995-2008, will speak outside Thea's Diner as a result of recent media reports of racism directed at Jamaican-born chef Thea Morris, 53, and her restaurant in the southern Manitoba town of Morris.

Ron D'Errico, president of Winnipeg's Impact Security Group, said he contacted Stegall about what was happening to Morris and he was "very upset about it."

"He's going to speak about what racism does to a community and he's going to strongly encourage the community to work together," said D'Errico.

He said the public is invited to attend at 2 p.m. as Stegall will stay to visit with everyone who gathers and sign autographs.
