Chris Christie: Beware of people who've already made clear they're running for president

NEW YORK, N.Y. - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie insists he hasn't decided whether to run for president.

But he does have sharp words for those who have.

Speaking Wednesday before a Wall Street crowd at CNBC's Delivering Alpha conference, Christie said voters should "beware of" candidates who've made clear they're already in the running. He suggests, without naming names, that those people are putting ambition before wisdom and running for the wrong reasons.

The Republican governor also defended his recent tendency to skirt answering questions about contentious national topics.

Christie says he's not going to pretend to have opinions on issues just because he's asked if his answers aren't smart and won't stand the test of time.

Christie also hit Democratic lawmakers in New Jersey, calling them barbarians for trying to raise taxes.
