The Royal Canadian Artillery Museum at CFB Shilo — We will host two more Museum of Civilization exhibits June 21 -Sept. 21 as part of our 50th year celebrations. The Brandon General Museum and Archives is located on the ground floor of the old Manitoba Telephone building at 19 Ninth St. Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Admission free. Current exhibit "From This Chair: The Mayors of Brandon from 1882 to the present" featuring the City Council Chambers furniture from Brandon’s original City Hall, photographs of and biographies on all of Brandon’s mayors. Which mayor received the Order of Canada? Who is Brandon’s longest-serving mayor? Who is the only Brandon mayor to have served in all three levels of government? Which mayor was pro-prostitution? The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum, Hangar No. 1, Brandon Municipal Airport is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., seven days a week.The C.A.T.P. is the only museum solely dedicated to preserving the history of the thousands of Canadian, American and Commonwealth air personnel who trained under the "Plan". See the aircraft and vehicles that trained air force personnel and witness the complexity of these aircraft first-hand as volunteers work to restore rare training aircraft. Proudly, the museum features it’s "memorial book" which pays tribute to the 18,039 RCAF personnel who were lost in training and operations.
