A big ‘welcome back’ to all bowlers returning from the holiday break. We trust everyone had a safe and happy holiday.
This is a great time of year in the 5-pin bowling world, as some of the major events and tournaments come full circle.
The Manitoba Masters held their third Senior’s Event on Jan. 5 at Windsor Lanes in Winnipeg, where Brandon’s Gus Scaletta put up a sixth place performance with a +117 after eight games. On the ladies side, Gisele Sayer placed fourth with a +158.
The Masters then held their Teaching Division event on Jan. 6 at Roxy Lanes in Winnipeg, where Jerry Sayer shot a +53 to keep him in second overall through four events.
The rescheduled Youth Challenge Manitoba Provincials took place at Mosienko Lanes in Winnipeg on Jan. 12; we’ll have a full update on the results of this event in next week’s column.
And don’t look now, but the Westman Open Zone Championship is just a month away!
Brandon’s latest Bowlers of the Week from the week of December 21st was Mark Rogers (+183) and Nok Lenhert (+72), both participate in the Monday Provincial Mixed League! Most leagues will be back from holidays in the next week, and we’ll be back reporting weekly scores in the next column! Good luck and good bowling everyone!
