On Oct. 20-21, the Manitoba Masters Teaching Pins Over Average Division held two events in Neepawa and Brandon.
Winnipeg’s Christine McBride held off the competition both days, putting up scores of +249 and +95 to take first in both women’s events.
Winnipeggers also took the men’s events, with Terry Buchanan (+229) and Tom Hnatiuk (+118) taking home the titles early on this season.
Honorary mention goes to Westman’s Jerry Sayer, who finshed sixth in the men’s event in Brandon with a +143.
Big thanks goes out to Brandon’s Thunderbird Bowl and Neepawa’s Evan’s Lanes for hosting some of the best five-pinners in the province.
A friendly reminder that the Youth Challenge Westman Zone Championship will be held at Carberry Lanes this Sunday. Come on out and cheer on some of our young bowlers as they compete for spots at the Provincial Championships later this season.
Congrats to Wayne Lafournie of the Smitty’s Men’s League and Christine Riddell of the Monday Provincial Mixed League for Brandon Bowler of the Week honours. Wayne had a +123, while Christine had a +114. Great bowling!
