Global market set to return this June

With much anticipation, Brandon’s Downtown Global Market will return Thursday, June 5.

Running from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the first market of the season welcomes back many past and new vendors, such as Nicki Loewen’s Gluten Free Baking, Generation Fibreworks and Funky Foods.

As well, Blake Hamilton from the Brandon Community Garden Network will be in attendance to do some garden activities. Make sure to stop by to transplant your tomato and take it home with you.

The market welcomes a new co-ordinator, Erin Gobeil, who will continue to grow the market and is always open to hearing feedback, comments and suggestions.

The official opening day of the season will take place Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Regular market hours are every Thursday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The primary role of Brandon’s Downtown Global Market is to provide an attractive, friendly outdoor market for everyone to enjoy. With this in mind, many new improvements and additions are being made, such as the Global Market Cafe, a beautiful “Park for Peace” green space in the middle, and the addition of three new vendor booths.

The global market is a program of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Westman Region. It is supported by the Brandon Area Community Foundation, Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation, Renaissance Brandon, Healthy Brandon, Neighbourhoods Alive and more than 30 other supporting organizations.

For further information, please contact market co-ordinator Erin Gobeil at 204-573-8046 or visit: globalmarketbrandon.com
