Lucky Ned and Friends is a local trio of serious music enthusiasts who play a blend of folk, rock, roots, blues and gospel and anything else they feel like playing. They’ll be the featured entertainment Sept. 28.
If you’re searching for a fabulous venue where you can get your fill of great food and live entertainment on a Saturday night, look no further than Margo’s Grill at 1451 Richmond Ave. East.
Margo’s boasts "the best German/Polish buffet on the planet!" Most ingredients are home grown right here in Manitoba and everything is homemade right on the premises. They also have plenty of North American selections to suit even the pickiest diners.
Last weekend they kicked off their ever-popular fall entertainment calendar with Margo’s jam band.
The evening features an amazing combo of dinner and dancing and there are plenty more to come on Margo’s entertainment calendar later this fall.
Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. with the music usually beginning around 8:30 p.m. But you have three options for your evening as tickets are available for each of the following: just the buffet dinner, just the dance or the dinner and dance combo.
I think I speak for all music lovers who appreciate live entertainment when I say it’s always great to have more places to plug in and play.
Margo’s is one of the latest in a long line of licensed establishments to open their doors and stage to the Westman music community.
The setup at Margo’s is ideal for everything from small office functions or sports team windups to even medium-sized socials. The stage overlooks the room that is licensed for almost 100 patrons.
The acoustics are incredible and there really isn’t a bad seat in the house.
This is the ideal spot for fellow music lovers to see a great show and have the option of including a nice dinner into the mix of their evening. And there’s plenty of room to dance for those wanting to burn off some calories from Margo’s tasty menu items.
Proprietors Peter Laue and Malgorzata Wejda (aka Margo) happily opened the doors and their arms to the local music community soon after taking over ownership of the former Richmond Restaurant nearly two years ago.
After holding a few events last year as well as including regular entertainment from their adopted house band "The Manhandles", the self-proclaimed music lovers were happy to see a favourable response and have decided to continue booking entertainment.
Although everyone is always welcome at Margo’s, they’re targeting the 35 and up crowd with an appreciation of music genres including blues, folk and middle of the road to classic rock.
As Margo’s continues to expand on their entertainment calendar, several gigs are already confirmed for the fall-winter season.
