Melanie Hellyer and Vanessa Hamilton of Healthy Brandon present a cheque for $500 to Brandon Cultural Awareness Network members Jaime Chinchilla and Hope Roberts in support of the upcoming Multi Cultural Festival to be held July 6 and 7 at the new Global Market and Princess Park respectively.
The Multi Cultural Festival was started by Jaime and Son Latino band three years ago to showcase cultural talent to the general community of Brandon, free of charge and accessible to everyone. The event was so successful that the following year it expanded to partner with Brandon Cultural Awareness Network.
This year the festival has further expanded to encompass two days and two locations in downtown Brandon, thanks to new support from the City of Brandon and the new Cultural Diversity Facilitator position at Westman Immigrant Services.
The festival features live entertainment, food and crafts from a wide variety of cultures, as well as community displays. Healthy Brandon is very pleased to be on board as a partner with Brandon Cultural Awareness Network in the festival, which promotes a healthy, active lifestyle, social inclusion and celebrates our cultural diversity.
