This event saw teams from across Canada presenting the results of their projects throughout the school year.

Through three rounds of live presentation-based competitions, Canadian SIFE teams showcased how their community outreach projects shaped the economic, social and environmental landscape of our country.

Business leaders served as the panel of judges who evaluated each team’s projects and determined which team was most successful at improving the quality of life and standard of living for those in their community.

Out of 50 teams that competed, SIFE Brandon made it to the semi-final round and placed within the top 20 teams in Canada.

This is a major accomplishment for the SIFE Brandon team, and we are very proud to have represented Manitoba in this national competition. We are very excited to attend the World Cup in September and cheer for the Memorial University of Newfoundland, the Canadian SIFE National Champion.

Two days later, on May 12, SIFE Brandon and James B Chrisp UCT Council #448 successfully hosted a spring cleanup event in Brandon.

All members of the team would like to thank all the volunteers who came out to help that day, as well as all sponsors and supporters who helped make this event possible.

SIFE Brandon would also like to take the time to acknowledge the success in launching the new Green Futures North Urban Farm location.

This community-based garden initiative gives families the opportunity to grow and sell their own fresh produce to help generate extra income.

SIFE Brandon will also be working with the Samaritan House who intends to use 10 of these garden beds to grow fresh produce for the food bank. Members of SIFE Brandon would also like to thank the members who helped get all of the garden beds in place and filled with dirt to make this project possible.
