Big Brother Canada casting call opens in 7 cities from coast to coast

TORONTO - "Big Brother Canada" is searching the nation for drama kings and queens to battle it out on the upcoming third season of the hit reality show.

Aspiring houseguests can apply online at BigBrotherCanada.ca or in person at casting calls across the country this fall.

Those who make it onto the show will compete for a grand cash prize through a series of weekly challenges, all while under 24/7 video surveillance in the Big Brother House.

Following a popular second season, the series is moving to Global from specialty network Slice and will air in spring 2015.

Online applicants must record a short video about why they would make the perfect houseguest. The submission deadline is Nov. 24.

Barbara Williams, vice-president of content at Shaw Media, said the series is looking for "the biggest, boldest personalities in Canada."

Jon Pardy was named the winner of Season 2 in May after 10 weeks and won $100,000.

Applicants must be 19 years old by March 1, 2015.

Open casting calls will be held in the following cities:

Vancouver and Calgary: Oct. 19

Regina and Halifax: Oct. 24

St. John's, N.L.: Oct. 29

Montreal: Oct. 30

Toronto: Nov. 23
