TORONTO - Singer Dallas Green — who performs under the name City and Colour — has reversed his decision to perform at next month's Juno Awards in Winnipeg.

In a statement, the musician says that since he has not been nominated this year, he'd prefer to see a "new nominee be afforded the opportunity to perform on the show."

The Junos announced earlier this week that City and Colour would play at the March 30 show, along with Robin Thicke and Selena Ryder.

Green says he's honoured by the recognition he has received from the Junos over the years and would be back at Winnipeg's MTS Centre in May as part of a cross-Canada tour.

Arcade Fire has a leading six Juno nominations, while Ryder and Michael Buble have five apiece.

The host has yet to be announced.
