"How I Met Your Dad" was supposed to be one of the hottest shows of TV's fall season but it appears the "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off is now in jeopardy.

New York magazine's Vulture blog speculates on why CBS has shelved the show and whether it could possibly be saved.

Poor Kelsey Grammer. While about a million trend pieces were written for the recent 10-year anniversary of "Friends" going off that air, few took notice that "Frasier" ended a decade ago.

But Salon has posted an ode to the show, which it calls "the last wildly successful network sitcom (probably) ever."

Daniel D'Addario argues that while "Frasier" wasn't relatable enough to be remembered as a cultural touchstone like "Friends" or "Seinfeld," the Emmy-winning comedy should be respected.

"'Frasier' did perhaps a harder thing — taking the forms of traditional family sitcoms and larding them with highbrow references and baroque character traits," D'Addario writes.

Howard Stern is thought of by many as the prototypical sexist, offensive radio shock jock, while others know him for his judging role on TV's "America's Got Talent." Love him or hate him, there's no disputing that he's one of the best celebrity interviewers, who consistently gets guarded A-listers to open up.

One of his most recent interviews is an hour-long chat with "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris, who opens up about how he was approached to possibly host CBS' "Late Show," his unlikely friendship with Elton John, and his "Doogie Howser, M.D." days.

The U.K.'s Guardian is lamenting what could be the jump-sharking moment for "The Simpsons." Fox has teased out plans for an hour-long crossover episode that would see the "Family Guy" clan invade Springfield.

"We already know that the show isn't even a shadow of the all-powerful cultural colossus it was back in the 1990s, but now — in the winter of its years — it hurts to see it lurch from attention-seeking gimmick to attention-seeking gimmick without a trace of shame," says the paper.

"Fox's entertainment chairman has declared that 'generations of fans will be talking about this one.' It's too early to call, but there's a good bet that what they'll be saying is this: 'Worst. Episode. Ever.'"
