'State of Lake Ontario' fishery information sessions scheduled at 3 NY sites this month

ALBANY, N.Y. - New York wildlife officials have scheduled this year's "State of Lake Ontario" meetings at three locations this month.

The Department of Environmental Conservation says the sessions to update the public about the status of the lake's fisheries will be in Pulaski on Wednesday, Rochester on March 12 and Lockport on March 19.

The lake is home to a variety of trout and salmon, bass, walleye, yellow perch and panfish and the agency says the fisheries contribute $112 million each year to the state's economy.

State and federal officials will also discuss stocking programs and management plans.

More information is available on the DEC's website.
