Tickets for Heart’s upcoming concert at Westman Place are about 75 per cent sold.
Roughly 1,800 tickets out of 2,500 have been snapped up by classic rock fans.
“There’s still good tickets left,” Keystone Centre general manager Neil Thomson said. “We’re still hoping we’ll be very close to a sell-out by the time the concert arrives.”
Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, who first stormed onto the charts in the 1970s with hits like “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man” and “Barracuda” take the stage March 15.
Meanwhile, ticket sales didn’t go as well for the Tragically Hip concert, which took place on Jan. 28.
Around 3,000 tickets were sold for that show, which was a full arena sale of 5,000 possible tickets.
“I was hoping for a little bit of a larger crowd,” Thomson said. “We’re trying to bring in lots of music at this stage, and we’re certainly hoping to get support from Brandon and western Manitoba.”
Country legend Kenny Rogers performed on Jan. 24, bringing out a good crowd.
“He was probably close to 85 per cent sellout for that one, and that’s not too bad,” Thomson said. “Some acts you hope for a full house and some they aren’t going to have a full house, but that’s fine.”
Thomson said the Keystone Centre will continue to bring in performers, as another revenue arm for the facility.
“When I joined the Keystone, my intent was to try to increase the revenue for the facility,” he said. “We’re trying to have a facility here that will break even prior to government funding. We were successful doing that last year, so with the concerts, we’re doing our own food services now, we’re hoping we can achieve that again.”
Thomson said the Keystone will be making a big concert announcement within the next week.
